In Karnataka 25 Wildlife sanctuaries, 7 of them are Bird Sanctuary. Animal and Bird Sanctuary are situated in many places of Karnataka. There is Special Sanctuary to Peacocks, lions, Tigers, Elephants Bears. Some of the Sanctuary situated in the hilly places. Ranganathittu, Kokarebelur are the popular bird sanctuary in Karnataka. Most of wildlife sanctuary situated in western ghat ranges. Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is one of the well known place, special kind of birds visiting here from other countries including small to Big Birds. Climate of this place is the reason to stay rare birds in Karnataka. Peacock is the State Bird of Karnataka and Snake Bird is the most attractive, can see in lakes of Karnataka.
Many Bird Sanctuaries situated in the bank of rivers. There are types of birds leaving in the trees and some in the ground. Malabar Pied Hornbill and Indian Roller arethe attractive birds, can see very rarely in the wild. Kokkare Bellur is the sanctuary which attracts tourists largly, Storks are the main birds here, Kokkare means Stork ( in Kannada Language)
