Kushalnagar is the small town of Somwarpet taluku in Coorg District, Karnataka. This Town identified as one of the tourist Places in Coorg. This Town is the Entrance to Coorg from Mysore District. There are no Tourist interest sights in this town, but you can find interesting places near to Kushalnagar that is Kaveri Nisargadama, Tibetan Golden Temple and Settlement of Tibet, Dubare Forest also near to this Place, and Harangi Reservoir also the main place to visit. Many of the big Coffee Curing Works Situated 3 km from this Kushalnagar town. - Dubare Forest: This is Elephant Training Camp in the bank of Kaveri River about 8km from Kushalnagar Town. The main Attraction is Elephant Glimpse, River View.
- Harangi Reservoir: Harangi is the only Dam in Coorg District. This Dam provides water for agriculture to the Hassan District and some part of Coorg District. 11000 Volt of Electricity generating by this Dam. In the Recent years tourists not allowed inside the dam because of safety (You can watch this dam from 200 to 300 meters).
- Kaveri Nisargadhama: This is the small animal sanctuary with restaurant and hotels inside of this area. You can see Bamboo in almost part of this place. Elephants, Deers, Monkeys and some species of Bird are the main attraction here. Entrance fees is Rs 20 per person.
- Tibetan Golden Temple: more than 50 years ago Tibetan come to india by the honor of mahatma Gandhi. One of the Tibetan Settlement located in Bylukoppe of Mysore District and border of Coorg District. They built many Temples of Buddha with great traditional style, this is one of the best attraction to tourists, Thousands of lama’s praying in the temples with tradition.
- Valnur Fishing Camp: Valnur fishing camp is located near Kushalanagar on the banks of the Cauvery. Fishing permits from the Coorg Wildlife Society. In 1985, a coffee planter caught a Mahseer weighing 40 kg near Siddapur in Coorg.
