This is the place situated in the Island of Kaveri River. Srirangapatna is the famous town in Mandya district of Karnataka State, this place is the best known for Tourism for Historical Temples, Tipu sultan’s Administration and historic importance. The Name of the town derives from the presiding deity of Ranganatha Swamy Temple situated almost end of the island. Srirangapatna once the Capital of Mysore State, during Tippu Sultan ruling Mysore, after the end of Tippu Sultan in 1799 the British replaced the capital back to Mysore.
This place is filled with Temple, Mosque and Other Historical Monuments and that’s surrounded by a strong stone fort with four gates. Some of the Old Monuments remains currently they are Lal Mahal, Water Gate, Two Dungeons, Mausoleum, Daria Daulat, Jama Masjid.
Tourist Places to Visit in Srirangapatna:
- Ranganatha Swamy Temple: This is so famous temple and some people called as Srirangapatna Temple for Identify. This architecture built with Hoysala and Vijayanagar styles.
- Colonel Bailey Dungeon: This Dungeon situated about 1 km from Ranganatha Swamy Temple.
- Jama Masjid: This Masjid built by the Tippu Sultan in 1787.This structure involved two lofty minarets, and there are 200 steps that leading to top of the minarets.
- Dariya Daulat Bagh: This is the Garden situated outside of the fort, and built in 1784 AD. This is the main beautiful Garden for visitors to relax around Srirangapatna.
- Gumbaz (Mausoleum of Tippy Sultan): This Gumbaz is the mausoleum of Tippu Sultan, situated at the end of the town. This structure built in 1782-84. It is about 3 km from Srirangapatna.
- Nimishaba Temple: This temple built at the time of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar in almost 400 years ago on the bank of Kaveri River. It is situated about 3 km from Srirangapatna.
- Sangam: This is the place of River Loakpavani meets and River Kaveri. Sangam located about 3 km from Mysore.
- Paschimavahini: Sacred place of Hindus, situated on the Kaveri River and about 2 km from Srirangapatna.
- Karighatta: This is the Hills stands over 2,697 ft and has A Temple of Venkataramanaswamy.

How to Reach Srirangapatna:
This place lies on the way of Bangalore to Mysore, which is situated 19 km from Mysore. Private and Government buses proving passenger services through Bangalore and Mysore route time to time. Trains also running between the city of Bangalore and Mysore, and stop in this town.
Weather in Srirangapatna:
Srirangapatna can be visited anytime in a year. Winters during November to February are very pleasant. Summers during April to June offer warm climate with temperature ranging from 20°C to 37°C.Temperature throughout season is between 15°C to 30°C. No more rain in the monsoon.
